
State College Municipal Band
The State College Municipal Band is a local non-profit group
that performs band music from modern composers. The group
puts on approximatly five formal concerts per year with additional
appearances to perform for the Fourth of July Fireworks display,
Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, Concerts in the Park at Holmes Foster Park,
Nittany Mall Christmas activities and South Hills Business School's
Sunday Evening Summer Concert Series.
Band openings
New members are welcome at the first three rehearsals. After that, please call the band manager for more information.
There are no tryouts and membership is open to all interested musicians.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals start this year on September 20, and are held every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 10:00 PM with one rehearsal from 10:00 AM to Noon on the Saturday morning before each concert.
Location and time are still the same: Senior High School-South building auditorium at 7:30 PM.

- Indoor concerts at the High School-South Auditorium
- Veteran's Day November 15, 1995, 7:30 PM Canceled due to snow!
- Christmas December 16, 1995, 3:00 PM (at the Nittany Mall)
- Mid-Winter February 11, 1996, 2:30 PM
- March Festival March 17, 1996, 2:30 PM
- Mother's Day May 12, 1996, 2:30 PM
- Outdoor concerts:
- Fireworks Beaver Stadium Parking Lot, July 4, 1996, 8:00 PM
- Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts Festival Shell, (date and time TBD)
- State College Parks and Rec. "Concerts in the Park" Holmes-Foster Park, (date and time TBD)
- South Hills Business School "Sunday Evening Summer Concert Series" Business School grounds, (date and time TBD)
